new in (plus, dilemma)

Ok, so the watch pictured above I got from River Island, I would say, about a month ago. I went to town to get some essentials, didn't take a lot of money with me and, of course, came across this beauty. You know the feeling, when you instantly fall in love with any object because it's just sooo beautiful? That's how I felt about this watch. It was priced at £25 (and is still available here) and I instantly loved it due to its two-tone dial (I think it's called a dial...), against the gold strap and casing. I've always been picky about watches and I've probably been given about five over the past few years for birthdays, Christmas etc. yet I have never religiously worn any of them, because they were never quite right. I actually asked for a specific Lipsy one a few years back, however received a different one to the one I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I'm complaining about receiving presents because I still liked the watch even though it was beige, not black, yet I never made the effort to wear it all the time. So, when I saw this master piece, I thought 'yes, this is the one'. Due to a lack in funds, I had to leave town without and wait for a few days before I could go back to get it. I actually looked at it on the River Island website but, as you can see above, it looks quite different to my one. I have never been and am still not keen on the weird diamantee, sparkly numbers, or lack therefore, but other than that I see this to be the nicest watch.
Anyway, the whole point of this post is that, as much as I adore the watch, its quality is not the best. As you may be able to tell from the photographs, it is now no longer a golden, but more a silvery watch, and this is after a month's wear. I am aware that it only cost me £25 but I still hoped that its beauty would remain for just that little bit longer. Another thing, I wasn't aware that I had small wrists and I really don't think I do, so other people must be more annoyed with this but, the watch only enabled me to take a one section off the strap to make it a tighter fit, which I thought was a bit weird..then again, I may just be to stupid to figure out how to alter it further... All in all, I absolutely adore this watch, yet I wanted to let you know how upset I am about its loss in golden goodness, which has turned into a bronzey, silvery, cheap-looking mess. So, here I am again, on the search to find the perfect watch. Got my eye on a Michael Kors one - a girl can dream...
